I do figurative and plein air painting in a bold, expressive manner from life, rich in color and movement and expressive of the life spirit. My paintings are loose and animated, capturing human interaction as well as emotional undercurrents. I take a direct approach to figurative and plein air painting, working alla prima, using rhythms and patterns as well as solid drawing skills to depict a strong sense of time and place. My studio is located in Carpinteria, California. |
